Humanoid Robots have a body structure similar to humans and are often
autonomous, meaning the robots are capable of functioning without
human control. Humanoid robots simulate human behavior and are used in
fields such as personal assistance, health care, entertainment, and
security. In order to perform tasks, the humanoid robot needs to be
able to visualize, localize, and move in its surroundings. I will
investigate humanoid robots by developing a program for a game of
robot soccer. Robot soccer opens the doors to many possibilities of
what a humanoid robot can achieve. In researching humanoid robots, I
hope to gain insight on the robots ability to perceive and respond to
its environment.
